Why Dalit Reservation?

“People from Khas-Aryan community complain that Dalits have snatched away their share of pie. I don’t think so. There are many people from Khas-Aryan community who are in politics, or in government bodies, or in bureaucracy. If they were fired to make space for Dalits/women, it would have been fair to call it ‘snatching away our share of pie’. We are talking about vacancies for new recruits here. All we are asking for is- when new opportunities are created – chance be given to those disadvantaged communities, who were oppressed before – because they too are now well qualified and deserving for that.”
